Through close colaborations with our customers, our instruments are adapted to the needs and processes of the operator. So we can assure, that our instruments give the best benefit to our customers.
NEW RSWA F2
The RSWA F2
is the systematic advanced development of the field-proven and successful RSWA F1. The RSWA F2 is not only 50% lighter and thinner but provides unique ease of use thanks to the high-resolution 10.1“ display as well as the possibility for wireless connection to the new Tessonics Data Service.
The Tessonics Data Service (TDS) is a data management software that provides the possibility to manage all connected RSWA F2 instruments and to keep software revisions up-to-date. Additionally, measurement data can be made available - almost in real-time – to any user within a network and appropriate authorization. For this, no additional software is required, the user can directly access data with every internet capable device.
Together with the RSWA F2, a new and unique transducer technology is introduced. While for comparable instruments on the market the complete transducer has to be exchanged in case of a defect cable, cables can be replaced on
RSWA F2 transducers separately which reduces maintenance costs significantly. The RSWA F2 transducers are available in a 52-element or in a new 120-element version, that provides significantly larger coverage while having the same resolution.
Features
The F2 platform is configurable as:
Resistance Spot Weld Analyzer (RSWA)
Adhesive Bonding Inspection System (ABIS)
The built-in electronics supports:
transducers with built-in identification system
unrestricted matrix element count
single-frame and continuous data acquisition modes
New transducer technology:
standard 52-element transducer
new 120-element with 15 mm diameter coverage
unique technology to replace transducer cables in case of damage
For the RSWA F2 a unique transducer technology has been developed that provides the possibility to replace cables in case of damage. The cable can be replaced by the operator by simply loosening respective screws which significantly lowers maintenance costs.
The RSWA F2 transducers are available in a
52-element or in a new 120-element version.
Features
Matrix-array transducer
52 or 120 elements (diameter: 10 or 15 mm)
1,25 mm x 1,25 mm pitch
15 MHz
2 m cable length
replacable hard delay line
replacable cabel, same cable type for both transducer versions
NEW:
Pencil Probe
The Pencil Probe for the RSWA F-2 enables testing even in hard-to-reach places; with its diameter of only 16 mm and a length of 100 mm, it is modelled on the shape of a welding electrode and can thus reach even deep-lying spot welds.
With its 52 elements with 1.25 x 1.25 mm pitch, it has the same ultrasonic characteristics as our proven RSWA standard probes.
Furthermore, this probe also has the option of replacing the cable in case of damage without having to replace the entire probe. The probe and cable are simply connected using industry-proven Lemo connectors.
Features
matrix array transducer
52 elements (diameter: 10 mm)
1,25 mm x 1,25 mm pitch
15 MHz
2 m cable length
16 mm maximum housing diameter
appr. 100 mm total length (w/o cable)
replaceable, solid delay line
replaceable cable, Lemo-connector
NEW:
Tessonics Quality Cart
The Tessonics Quality Cart is a test cart solution which makes ultrasonic testing with the RSWA F-2 even more convenient. Due to its robust and well-thought-out design, an inspector is able to carry all tools and equipment necessary for an inspection, such as replacement batteries, couplant gel, documentation etc. in lockable drawers.
The optionally available 240 V AC-power supply via recharge-able batteries allows for the operation of PCs even in places where no stationary power supply is available. Additional rechargeable batteries for the trolley can always be kept available for immediate use with an external charging station.
Using an optionally available monitor stand, the trolley can be equipped with a monitor up to 24" screen diagonal, to which the RSWA F-2 or a PC can be connected; this enables the operator to work even more ergonomically.
Features
The Quality Cart is a mobile inspection cart solution and offers:
Support and built-in electronics for location-independent testing with the RSWA F-2
Charging station for 2 RSWA F-2 batteries
Storage for 6 bottles of couplant
Location-independent 240V AC power supply via 2 batteries (optional), hot-swap capable
High mobility due to four locking swivel castors
Enough storage space for accessories and other tools in lockable drawers
RSWA is an ultrasonic device designed for quality control and NDE of resistance spot welds. RSWA is a portable and simple-in-operation device capable of producing images of spot weld’s internal structures. In addition to live on-screen image, this device performs estimation of the nugget diameter and compares it with predefined minimum nugget requirements.
Using the unique technology of multi-channel ultrasonic matrix transducer, RSWA collects data from the surface and from the internal structures of the nugget. Special algorithms use this data to reconstruct the image of the spot weld and estimate the average diameter of the nugget area in real time.
Features
single-frame and continuous data acquisition modes
automatic and manual nugget size estimation
automatic detection of scanning depth inside the metal
built-in reporting system and file storage
Applications
Metal stacks: 2T and 3T; 0.6–2.4 mm plate thicknesses
Types of materials: mild steel, high strength steel, dual phase ultra high strength steel
The Adhesive Bond Inspection System
(ABIS) was developed for NDT of adhesive joints in automotive and aerospace assemblies. This system employs a matrix array of small flat ultrasonic transducers for evaluation of the adhesive joint without mechanical scanning. The reverberating waveforms recorded by the array elements are processed to obtain an informative parameter, whose two-dimensional distribution is presented as a C-scan. The C-scans show the lateral location of “adhesive/no-adhesive” regions in the joint.
Features
One side access
Two dimensional 10 mm x 10 mm acoustic image of the adhesive coverage
Automatic determination of the width of the adhesive bead
Real time A–scan and C –scan display
Lateral resolution – 1 mm
Applications
Metal: steel and aluminum 0.7 – 2.0 mm thickness; coated, painted and bare
Adhesive: 0.1 – 1 mm thickness; structural and sealant; pre-cured and cured
RIWA is a ultrasonic device capable of measuring a spot weld quality immediately after the weld is produced.
A high frequency ultrasonic transducer is integrated into the welding electrode. This transducer generates ultrasonic waves that pass through the electrode cap into the welded plates. These waves are reflected back and received by the same transducer.
The special software performs analysis and reports the size of the measured weld and its location with respect to the plate surface. Alternatively, the software can display a red, yellow, and green icon for quick weld quality estimation. A welding engineer can easily determine the current weld quality as well as stability of the process from collected statistics.
The installation of the transducer is simple; and it does not affect the cooling water flow. At the present stage of development, the lifetime of the transducer is 3,000,000 welds.
Field of Operations
Metals:
Mild steel
High strength
Dual phase
Metal thickness:
In the range of 0.7–2.0 mm
